Miraventura

A language-learning game

A small town where you learn a language by using it.

You walk around, read the signs and talk to the people who live there. They ask you things, and you answer in the language you are learning. Italian comes first.

How it plays

  1. The game seen from above: the player stands at a café counter facing Giulia, the cashier, with a button that says Talk to Giulia.

    Walk around

A small town with people to meet and signs to read. Each episode is a short story with something at stake.

  2. A task from Giulia: politely say that you would like a coffee. Below it, a field to type in Italian and a microphone button.

    Answer in the language

When someone asks you something, you answer in the language you are learning, by typing or by speaking.

  3. Feedback on an answer, headed Not quite: voglio sounds blunt in a shop, use the conditional vorrei. The correct form is shown with a Try again button.

    See what went wrong

The game marks your answer. When you are nearly right, it explains the slip and you try again.

What you keep

After each act there is a quick check, and a review at the end of the episode. The words you choose to keep go into your word bank.

Languages
